Wet afternoon

The reason why - broken dynamo mounting.

An annying sound from the engine bay told it - some troubles are in sight. A short inspection made it clear: the dynamo mounting on the waterpump was broken, the dynamo hanging helpless in the wind, a heroic belt tried to prevent more damages - only 40 years, and no more guarantee, of course...;-)

A first fixing attempt with metal glue helped until the spare parts have been delivered. Loaden with the new parts, the garage was entered, the removal and refitting could start.

A helpful tool - ratchet for the lower dynamo mounting.

After removal of the radiator, the "repair theatre" was clearly in sight.

Ventilator and pulley are pulled of, remains of the old gasket will be removed next.

Before and after. Look at the broken mounting - but there was no reason for it.

Looks better. Torque wrench setting is 25 lbs.

Time to laugh - to be honest, the radiator was in the car. Can you find the small mistake?

Repairing an MG is always attracts guests - so Michael offers to make the first test drive...
