Of course, MG is a synonym for sports car, so Dagmar and me decided heading towards Tübingen (in Swabia, southern part of Germany) on Friday evening.
Not only driving sportscars, but looking at sportscars is a goal at Romans meetings, too. So the weekend beguns with a visit at the BOXENSTOP museum. The owner itself, Mr Klink, proudly presented his collection and the story of sportscars of the last 60 years. This museum is a MUST if you are on vacation in the southern parts of Germany!
On Saturday, we get up early. At first, time travelling was on the schedule. With boats, we are looking at the waterfront of Tübingen. Really a time warp, because you see no evidence of modern times. Fascinating...
But then sportscar driving was on the agenda: 17 teams (lots of Porshces, 4 MGs, some Alfas and Miatas, Lotus Seven and Panther Callista...) are on the road southbound to the Donau valley. Wonderful views on rural streets - we really enjoyed it.
the day ended up with a dinner in a very fine restaurant.
On Sunday, we made an excursion through the Blackwood Forest. In the small villages, not only the drivers, but the people who are living there too enjoyed the look at the sportscars parade.
One of Sundays highlight was a brunch in Bad Teinach, a small town near Pforzheim. A very exclusive all-you-can-buffett was the right background for coming togehter to discuss the pros and cons of the different sportscar concepts which were on the road the weekend.
Bottom line? It was a perfect weekend, well organized, wonderful roads.
See you again next year!
